Passenger dies after rollover crash on Greenwich St in NE Houston
HOUSTON, TX — A man died Sunday, April 30, after a rollover collision that hurt two other people, including a child, in northeast Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
The HPD Vehicular Crimes Division said the wreck occurred at 9900 Greenwich Street at about 6:05 p.m.
A preliminary investigation shows a 34-year-old man was driving a silver Jeep Wrangler northbound on the road. The driver said he spotted a child in the road as the Jeep approached Rhobell Street and hit his brakes. The Jeep veered off the right side of the roadway and into a ditch. It then hit a concrete culvert and rolled onto its roof.
A man who was sitting in the Jeep’s front passenger seat was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The child, an 8-year-old girl, was transported to an area hospital for minor injuries suffered from flying debris.
The driver, who also suffered minor injuries, received treatment at a local hospital.
No charges have been reported at this time. An investigation remains in progress.
