Teen arrested after crashing stolen vehicle into METRO bus on Gessner Rd.
HOUSTON, TX – A teenager has been apprehended by the Houston Police Department after allegedly stealing a vehicle and colliding with a METRO bus in southwest Houston on Wednesday evening.
According to KPRC, the crash occurred around 10 p.m. in the 11700 block of S. Gessner Road near the intersection with McGee Lane.
Investigators say the incident began when a 55-year-old woman was approached by two individuals armed with a gun and a Taser after exiting her vehicle. The suspects forcibly took her purse, which contained her car keys. They subsequently entered the woman’s vehicle and fled.
Officers located the vehicle a short time later and attempted to pull it over. The driver, identified as an 18-year-old woman, immediately fled and the pursuit began. The vehicle continued for about a mile before slamming into the rear of a METRO bus.
Fortunately, there were no individuals on board the bus at the time of the incident. The police confirmed that the teen was apprehended without sustaining any injuries.
