Pedestrian hit, seriously hurt by vehicle near The Galleria
HOUSTON, TX — A man was hospitalized Monday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle on Westheimer Road in Houston’s Uptown area, according to ABC13.
The Houston Police Department said the incident took place along the Interstate 10 West Loop South, near The Galleria. It was first reported shortly before 2:00 p.m.
Preliminary details gathered from witnesses and video indicate the man was crossing the street when he was hit by the vehicle. He was not in a marked crosswalk at the time.
Houston Police said the driver, who cooperated with officers after the crash, had the green light and was not seen speeding. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected factors.
The victim, who suffered serious injuries, was transported to an area hospital. No updates on his condition have been released.
An investigation remains in progress.
