Passenger dies after two-vehicle wreck on US-90 in west Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A 22-year-old man died Monday night after a rollover crash involving two vehicles on U.S. Highway 90 in Houston’s Energy Corridor, according to the Houston Police Department.

The fatal wreck was reported at 11501 U.S. Highway 90 (Interstate 10 Katy Freeway) at around 10:15 p.m.

Investigators say the young man was a passenger in a maroon Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck that was heading southbound on the highway. Preliminary details indicate the pickup was hit by a southbound driver in a gray Chevrolet Equinox, which sent it veering off the roadway. The pickup then hit a median pillar and traveled into a grassy area before coming to a stop.

The 22-year-old male passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding paramedics.

The drivers of the Chevrolet and the Dodge, a 23-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman, respectively, were both taken to local hospitals with unspecified injuries.

At this time, authorities have not reported any pending charges. An investigation by the HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division remains underway.
