Major crash in Sugar Land claims child’s life, leaves 4 people hospitalized
FORT BEND COUNTY, TX — A child has died and another remains critically hurt after a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon in Sugar Land that left two other people hospitalized, reports Click2Houston.
The collision occurred at the intersection of East Riverpark Drive and the Grand Parkway, at around 4:16 p.m.
According to officials, one vehicle may have failed to stop at a red light before becoming involved in a crash with a second vehicle. Out of the seven people involved, six people were reported injured.
Two juveniles between ages 10 and 14 were rushed by airlift to an area hospital in critical condition. One of the patients was later pronounced deceased.
Three other adult patients were transported by ambulance to the hospital with unspecified injuries, while the two other patients declined treatment.
Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the wreck, but an investigation remains underway.
