Man and child killed in truck crash on SH-195 in Williamson County
FLORENCE, TX (WILLIAMSON COUNTY) – A man and a boy were killed in a crash involving a semi-truck on State Highway 195 near Florence early Wednesday morning, according to KXAN.
The crash happened at around 4:35 a.m. on SH-195, about three miles south of Florence, as the driver of a southbound 2017 Dodge Journey reportedly failed to control the speed of his vehicle. He then struck a trailer being hauled by a semi-truck.
The impact sent the Journey across the northbound lanes and onto the shoulder of Old State Highway 195.
The 28-year-old driver and a passenger, a 9-year-old boy, were declared deceased at the scene.
It is unclear if the truck driver was hurt in the crash.
The collision remains under investigation.
