Driver evading police dies in crash on Bellfort Ave.
HOUSTON, TX- A vehicle that was being pursued by police overturned on Bellfort Avenue and the driver was fatally ejected on April 4th, KTRK reports.
The chase began at a red light on Bellfort Ave. and Cullen. The car that was being pursued passed a red light and did not stop for authorities.
This same vehicle proceeded to run several more red lights as law enforcement followed it.
Upon nearing the intersection of Bellfort Ave. and S. Wayside Drive, the car overturned and the driver was thrown from the vehicle.
The cops who were pursuing the overturned car attempted to save the driver’s life. The driver, however, ended up dying.
There is still an investigation being run on this case.
The victim is considered to have died an “in-custody death.” This means that the officers involved are on leave until the investigation comes to a conclusion and that internal affairs will be working on the investigation as well.
