Honda driver dies after driving into a semitruck on Westheimer Rd.
HOUSTON, TX- A driver was killed after crashing into a tractor trailer at an intersection at 9999 Westheimer Road on March 1st, the HPD reports.
At 4:20a.m., the Houston fire and police departments were called to an accident involving a gold Honda Accord and a Volvo semitruck.
Authorities determined that the incident happened when the truck was in the middle of the intersection while heading east on Westheimer Rd. The Honda was driving northbound on Briarpark Drive when it drove into the semitruck.
Hitting the truck on it’s right side, the Honda was pushed under the truck, remaining lodged under the larger vehicle.
The 30 year-old at-fault driver of the Honda died at the scene. His identity was being confirmed before any name was released to the public.
The semitruck driver was a 22 year-old who was unharmed and worked fully with authorities following the crash.
An investigation into this case remains open.
