Police investigate deadly hit-and-run wreck on Fondren Rd
HOUSTON, TX – According to the Houston Police Department, one person is dead following a hit-and-run collision at 7400 Fondren Rd on Sunday.
A 27-year-old woman was driving a black Chevrolet Impala west on Fondren St at around 3:15 a.m. when she tried to make a left-hand turn or U-turn and was hit by an eastbound red Chevrolet Silverado.
Following the collision, the Impala came to rest against a median on the left side of the road. The Silverado went over the curb and sidewalk before coming to a stop in a paved area. The driver then fled the scene.
Paramedics transported the woman driver to an area hospital, where she died.
The HPD Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
