1 dead, 2 injured in speeding accident on Gulf Freeway

HOUSTON, TX- A driver was killed and two people injured when a speeding vehicle crashed into several objects and a vehicle at 12600 Gulf Freeway on Jan. 27th.

The Houston Police Department reported that the driver of the speeding Chevrolet Silverado hit several signs, a Chevrolet Equinox, and the base of a light pole around 1p.m Thursday. This was after the driver of the Silverado sped through traffic, driving back and forth between lanes, before missing an exit. Upon missing the exit, the driver drove through the median and crashed into all the structures listed above.

The driver was ejected and died on the scene when the vehicle rolled over on top of him. He was a 21 year-old man.

A passenger of the Silverado was hospitalized. He is reported to be 24 years-old.

The driver of the Equinox was injured but did not have to be hospitalized.

An investigation is being conducted on this accident.
