1 dead, 4 hospitalized after head-on crash on Dee Gabriel Collins Rd
AUSTIN, TX – One person was killed and another four were hospitalized following a head-on collision on Dee Gabriel Collins Road early this morning, according to information from Austin-Travis County EMS.
Vehicle Rescue at ~7000 DEE GABRIEL COLLINS RD (00:58). #ATCEMSMedics on scene reporting a 2 vehicle head-on collision with 5 total patients involved. 3 patients have been declared Trauma Alerts- 2 adults & 1 child. Expect #ATXTraffic delays in the area, more info to follow.

The collision occurred in about the 7000 block of Dee Gabriel Collins Rd near McKinney Falls Parkway at 12:58 a.m., when two vehicles collided head-on.
One adult victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
An additional three adults and one child were declared trauma alerts after being extricated from their vehicles.
One of the adult patients was taken to Dell Seton to receive treatment for critical, life-threatening wounds.
A second adult victim was taken to South Austin Medical Center with possibly serious injuries.
The child victim and a third adult were taken to Dell Children’s Medical Center, also with potentially severe wounds.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
