1 dead in pedestrian collision in southwest Houston
HOUSTON, TX – According to KHOU, one person is dead following a pedestrian collision in southwest Houston after midnight Friday.
The driver of a white or gray newer model Honda Civic with New Jersey license plates was heading south on Hillcroft Street near Dashwood Drive when he hit a homeless man in his late 30s in a crosswalk. The victim died in the crash.
Following the collision, the male driver stopped briefly but fled the scene before officers arrived.
The Houston Police Department is investigating the incident. Investigators are reviewing surveillance video of the collision.
