1 dead in semi-truck collision in northeast Harris County

HOUSTON, TX – According to Click 2 Houston, one person died in a fatal semi-truck collision in northeast Harris County early Saturday morning.

A pickup truck driver slammed into the back of a semi-truck at Beltway 8 and West Lake Houston Parkway around 12:40 a.m.

First responders flew the pickup truck driver to an area hospital, where he died.

The semi-truck driver was not hurt in the accident.

Authorities believe speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
