1 dead, many hospitalized following multi-vehicle collision in Galveston 

GALVESTON, TX – One person died, and several people were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 45.

The crash occurred before 11:30 a.m. on Friday along Broadway Street and involved an SUV, a heavy truck, and a sports car, according to Click2Houston.

Galveston police confirmed it was the sports car driver who succumbed to their injuries, while many, including two children, were taken to the hospital for unspecified injuries.

Police suspect speed could have been a contributing factor behind the crash.

No other details, including the sports car driver’s name, have been reported.
