1 dead, several injured from crash on 1-45N
HOUSTON, TX- One person died and several, including a sergeant, were injured at a 5:45a.m. crash on I-45 on Jan. 29th, KTRK reports.
The accident is believed to have occurred on the HOV lane, and it is suspected that the driver was not driving with traffic but against it.
The sergeant was heading to work when he was hit so he was not yet on-duty.

Some of the injured were hospitalized. No further information was provided on the state of those involved in the crash nor of the exact number of hospitalized cases.
Authorities reported they suspect the crash occurred because of a counterflow driver.
Significant traffic was anticipated from the crash. Other drivers were encouraged to avoid this part of the interstate from W. Gulf Bank and Mt. Houston Rd.
