1 killed, 1 injured in double big rig crash on FM 1314 near Conroe
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX — One person died Monday morning following a two-truck accident on FM 1314 near south Conroe, according to KHOU11.
The fatal collision unfolded on the eastbound lanes at Exxon Road, shortly after 4:30 a.m.
Authorities have not indicated the cause of the wreck, but two big rigs collided, causing the death of one driver.
Aerial footage captured by KHOU11 crews shows fire damage to the cab and front-end of one truck.
The surviving driver was said to have suffered “some burns,” but the severity of their condition was not immediately clear.
Following a containment of the blaze, crews worked for an extended time to clear the roadway of a resulting hazmat spill. Motorists were instructed to seek alternate routes during the road closure.
An investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing.
