1 killed, another injured in car-motorcycle collision in Houston’s Heron Lakes area
HOUSTON, TX – A 67-year-old woman was killed, and a 22-year-old man was injured in a car-motorcycle collision that happened in Houston’s Heron Lakes area on Wednesday.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened at 6 a.m. at the intersection of Gessner Road and Heron Nest Drive.
The 67-year-old woman, who was driving a white 2023 Chevrolet Bolt, failed to yield while turning left from southbound Gessner Road and onto eastbound Heron Nest Drive when she collided with a black 2022 BMW 330i traveling north on Gessner.
The motorcycle overturned as a result, leaving the motorcyclist with non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to St. Luke Vintage Hospital. The female driver, on the other hand, unfortunately died from her injuries.
Deputies do not believe impairment was a contributing factor behind the crash.
