1 life claimed, 1 hospitalized following fiery collision on Memorial Dr.
HOUSTON, TX – One person’s life was claimed, and another was sent to the hospital after a fiery collision on Memorial Drive on Monday, ABC13 said.
Houston Police said the incident unfolded when the driver of an unspecified vehicle was driving on eastbound Memorial and lost control of their vehicle, causing them to drift off the road and crash into a tree.
The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to catch fire and led the passenger to suffer fatal injuries at the scene.
A good Samaritan had pulled out the driver of the burning vehicle prior to the first responders’ arrival.
EMS crews transported the driver to a hospital for treatment of critical injuries.
In the early stages of the investigation, police believe speeding may have been a contributing factor, but have not been able to confirm whether intoxication was as well.
Updates, which include the passenger’s name, will be added once we learn more.
