1-year-old, 3 other people injured in apartment fire on Northgate Blvd
AUSTIN, TX – Four people, including a 1-year-old boy, were injured in an apartment fire on Northgate Boulevard early Friday morning, according to information from CBS Austin.
The fire broke out at the Ventura Apartments complex, located in the 9100 block of Northgate Boulevard, near W Rundberg Lane and Highway 183, at around 4 a.m.
An adult victim was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center to receive treatment for critical, life-threatening injuries.
A 1-year-old boy was taken to the hospital in critical condition and then put on the ventilator. According to his family, he was taken off the ventilator as of Saturday.
Two other victims were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
40 units were destroyed in the blaze, causing 32 people to be displaced during the chilly temperatures.
Authorities continue to investigate the fire at this time.
