17-year-old girl hit, seriously hurt by DWI suspect in Deer Park
HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A 17-year-old girl was flown to an area hospital Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle in southwest Deer Park, according to ABC13.
Deer Park Police and first responders were dispatched to the scene near Georgia Avenue and Wildwood Drive, in the Erin Glen area, just after 3:30 p.m.
Officials have not said what led up to the incident, but the teen was walking toward her residence from Deer Park High School’s south campus when she was hit by a pickup truck.
The victim was transported by Life Flight to an area hospital in critical condition.
Responding officers arrested the involved driver, who faces a charge of Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). Authorities indicated that other charges may be pending.
