2 children hurt as DUI suspect crashes truck into Katy residence
HARRIS COUNTY, TX — Two children were sent to a hospital Tuesday night after a suspected intoxicated driver crashed a truck into a Katy home, according to ABC13 Houston.
The collision occurred off of Highland Knolls Drive, a busy four-lane road that runs in the southeast corner of the city.
Officials with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said a driver in a truck struck two parked vehicles, a mailbox, and then a tree before slamming into the house, which was occupied by a family of seven at the time.
Two children, ages 8 and 11, suffered minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital.
The driver, who authorities said appeared to be impaired at the time of the wreck, was also taken to a hospital. His blood was drawn and tested for alcohol, per a request by the district attorney.
