2 dead, others left hurt after crash on S Post Oak Rd in SW Houston

HOUSTON, TX — Two people have died after a two-vehicle wreck Monday night in southwest Houston that left multiple others injured, according to the Houston Police Department.

Investigators said the fatal wreck occurred at 15100 South Post Oak Road at around 8:55 p.m.

Preliminary details show a 27-year-old man was driving a white Jeep Patriot south when he tried to turn left onto Anderson Road. Authorities said he failed to yield to the right of way of a northbound gray Hyundai Santa Fe. Moments later, the Hyundai collided with the Jeep.

A passenger in the Jeep, a woman believed to be in her 20s, was pronounced deceased on the scene, confirmed officials. The driver of the Jeep was rushed to an area hospital where he also succumbed to his injuries.

An undisclosed number of occupants from the Hyundai were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

An investigation remains ongoing. No charges have been reported as of this writing.
