2 injured in hit-and-run crash involving school bus in Conroe

CONROE, TX – Two people sustained minor injuries as a result of a hit-and-run crash involving a school bus in Conroe reported around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Conroe ISD told Fox26Houston that a Jeep driver crashed into the back of a school bus in the area of Knob Hollow and Jonquil Pathway near Irons Junior High.

The two Jeep occupants, two Hispanic males, fled the scene of the crash.

Police confirmed one of the Jeep occupants was armed. Police said they recovered the firearm and put the armed male into custody.

Police confirmed that there were 16 students on board the bus, none of whom were injured. Police also said two people suffered minor injuries, but did not confirm whether they were bus or Jeep occupants.

Police placed the middle school on secure mode, telling students and staff at the time to remain inside until the armed person was captured.
