2 lives claimed, another injured in rear-end crash in Channelview 

CHANNELVIEW, TX – Two people lost their lives, and another person was injured in a rear-end crash that happened in Channelview on Tuesday.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the collision took place on the 17400th block of Interstate 10 East. Ed Gonzalez, the Sheriff, told ABC13 that a man, operating a Red Ford Explorer, was driving recklessly and rear-ended a White Jeep Wrangler.

The impact sent the Explorer into an embankment, claiming the lives of the male driver and his passenger.

The Jeep driver survived and sustained minor injuries.

Officials have not released the victims’ identities.

Deputies shut down all eastbound lanes before reopening one by 4 p.m. Authorities lifted all lane closures at 6 p.m. and officially cleared the scene by then.
