2 lives claimed in fiery crash involving big rig in Houston 

HOUSTON, TX – Two lives were claimed in a fiery crash involving a big rig that occurred on Interstate 10 East near State Highway 6.

The incident occurred around 5 a.m. on Wednesday. Houston Police told Click2Houston that a truck overturned on top of a car, which caused the car to catch on fire.

Houston police were called to extinguish the car fire and confirmed two people succumbed to their injuries.

Officials closed several lanes on the freeway to accommodate the on-scene clean-up process. By 5:40 a.m., three center lanes, a right lane, and the right shoulder were closed.

Police have not released the victims’ names and are actively working to determine the cause of the crash.
