2 vehicles strike, kill man on TX-288 SB near Holly Hall

HOUSTON, TX – A 66-year-old man died Sunday in an auto-pedestrian crash along the highway in south-central Houston, reports Fox 26 Houston.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to the southbound side of TX-288 near Holly Hall Street in the Astrodome Area.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a pedestrian entered oncoming traffic along the highway and was struck by two vehicles. The victim died at the scene of the accident.

The first driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid, while several people from the second vehicle sustained injuries of unknown severity.

Authorities haven’t yet released the name of the deceased pedestrian.

The investigation is ongoing.
