2 women dead following series of crashes near Pecan Park
HOUSTON, TX – According to KTRK, two women lost their lives in a series of crashes that occurred at Interstate 45 and Griggs Road Saturday morning.
A woman was driving a black sedan when she was rear-ended by another vehicle around 1:18 a.m. The collision caused the black sedan to face the wrong way in the middle of the road. The driver who hit the black sedan fled the scene.
The driver of a Ford Explorer pulled over, and a passenger exited the vehicle to check on the driver of the black sedan. A man driving a blue sedan tried to avoid hitting the black sedan but failed. He also hit the woman from the Ford Explorer.
The woman driving the black sedan and the woman who was hit by the blue sedan both died from their injuries.
First responders transported the man driving the blue sedan to an area hospital.
The Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
