Besides the loss of life in this accident, there was a great deal of property damage as well.
Electricity and traffic signals were unable to function for some time on Tuesday as a few power lines and a transformer were damaged in the crash.
The CenterPoint Energy company was working on these outages for most of the day. At 2p.m., work was anticipated to be completed in six hours. They hoped to have power running by 5p.m., and they also hoped to have the traffic signals up, but not until 8p.m.
2p Update: FM 1093/FM 1463. 2-3 more hours for @CNPalerts to restore power. Another 5-6 hours after that to replace signals. #HouTraffic #HouNews pic.twitter.com/hOIbHflYxl
