Man fatally injured as pickup truck hits curb in Houston’s Midtown
HOUSTON, TX — A single-vehicle accident early Sunday in Houston’s Midtown neighborhood claimed the life of 54-year-old man, according to the Houston Police Department.
The fatal crash happened at the 1400 block of Webster Road, near Austin Street, at around 1:35 a.m.
Investigators with the HPD’s Vehicular Crimes Division said the man was driving a white Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck eastbound on the road. At one point, he failed to control the speed of the vehicle, causing it to hit a curb.
The male driver, who was partially ejected from the pickup, was rushed by Houston Fire Department paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
No other individuals were reported hurt and no other vehicles appear to have been involved.
Authorities continue to investigate.
