Police chase ends with deadly crash near Golfcrest
HOUSTON, TX – Two people died, and two others were injured when a driver fleeing from police crashed at Long Dr and Lancaster St on Tuesday, according to ABC 13.
A driver ran a red light around 2:38 p.m. and nearly hit another vehicle.
Officers attempted to pull the car over, but the driver refused to stop and led officers on a chase that lasted for less than two minutes and ended when the driver struck a concrete barrier at Lancaster St and Long Dr. The collision caused the vehicle to roll over into a bar parking lot.
Rescue crews pronounced one person from the car dead at the scene and transported three others to an area hospital, where another person died.
One of the two surviving suspects was the driver. He is facing a felony evading charge.
Authorities discovered burglary tools inside a bag one of the suspects had. They also found a BB gun they initially thought was a pistol. This led investigators to believe the men in the car may have been out committing crimes before running the red light.
