2 dead after driver hits parked car on Crane St

HOUSTON, TX – Two people died when a driver slammed into a parked vehicle on the 4900 Crane St on Wednesday, according to the Houston Police Department.

A 44-year-old man was driving a silver Ford Crown Victoria east on Crane St at high speeds on a wet road when he lost control of the vehicle and plowed into a parked black Dodge Challenger around 4:10 p.m.

Witnesses told officers the driver of the Crown Victoria swerved to avoid colliding with a pickup truck.

The Challenger was unoccupied. The collision pushed it into a metal fence and a light pole. A gate then fell on a white Dodge Ram.

The Crown Victoria driver and his 44-year-old male passenger died in the collision.
