Driver runs over man on North Fwy
HOUSTON, TX – A driver ran over a man on the 5900 block of the North Fwy on Saturday, according to the Houston Police Department.
A Toyota Corolla driver was on the North Fwy around 12:50 a.m. when he saw a 60-year-old man lying on the road. The driver tried to avoid running over the man but could not.
Following the collision, the driver stopped and called 911.
Rescue crews pronounced the victim dead at the scene. A preliminary investigation found the man may have been hit by another vehicle before the incident.
Authorities found the Toyota driver not to be impaired. They questioned and released him.
The victim’s identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The HPD Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the incident.
