Police find human remains inside car that crashed into pipeline in Deer Park
DEER PARK, TX – According to Click 2 Houston, authorities discovered human remains in the car that hit the pipeline and caused an explosion near Spencer Hwy and East Blvd on Monday.
A driver drove through the Walmart parking lot, bushes, and a fence before striking a valve that caused the explosion and subsequent fire.
Witnesses believe the driver may have had a medical episode. Authorities have ruled out terrorism and said it was an isolated incident.
Investigators waited until the fire dissipated and the area was cool enough to tow the vehicle.
Crews found the human remains while processing the vehicle.
Now, authorities are going through the identifying process, which could take some time.
