Driver strikes, injures pedestrian near Dodson Lake Park
HOUSTON, TX – A driver collided with a pedestrian who then fell off an overpass on I-69 SB near Laura Koppe Rd on Sunday.
A woman’s car became disabled around 9 p.m. She turned on her hazard lights and exited her vehicle to call a tow truck. A driver then struck the woman. The woman was sent flying over the retaining wall and fell 25-30 ft.
Paramedics transported the woman to an area hospital in critical condition.
Authorities attempted to block the road to investigate the collision when a female driver struck a patrol vehicle around 10:12 p.m. The driver showed signs of impairment.
The driver had a 3-year-old and a 6-year-old in the car with her.
First responders transported the driver and the officer in the patrol car to an area hospital with minor injuries. The two children were not hurt.
Officials charged the driver who hit the patrol car with DWI with children in the car and other charges concerning the crash into the HPD patrol car.
