Wrong-way driver fatally collides with another vehicle in west Houston
HOUSTON, TX – A wrong-way driver fatally collided with another vehicle at TX 6 and Briar Forest Dr on Sunday, according to Click 2 Houston.
The driver of a white Crown Victoria was heading west on Briar Forest Dr and tried to turn onto northbound TX 6 but instead went north on southbound TX 6. The Crown Victoria driver was attempting to correct the mistake when they slammed head-on into a black Mercedes around 11:40 p.m.
First responders pronounced the Crown Victoria driver and a passenger from the Mercedes dead at the scene. They transported the Mercedes driver and a front-seat passenger from the Mercedes to an area hospital.
A Toyota driver hit the Mercedes following the initial collision. That driver was not hurt.
Authorities are investigating the incident.
It is unclear if impairment was a factor in the wreck.
