Wrong-way crash on FM 2004 near Lake Jackson kills 2
BRAZORIA CO., TX – Two women died last Tuesday in a wrong-way crash along FM 2004 in southwest Brazoria County, reports The Facts.
Shortly before 9 p.m., emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle collision just south of CR 400. This is southwest of Lake Jackson, which is about 55 miles south of Houston.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a southbound Ford Explorer entered the northbound side of FM 2004 and collided head on with a northbound Dodge Ram 1500.
Neither driver survived the crash. Authorities identified the victims as 39-year-old Andrea Guajardo of Lake Jackson and 35-year-old Amanda White of Round Rock.
Drivers likely experienced delays along FM 2004 in the area of the crash while teams gathered evidence and worked at the scene.
A full investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
