Child claimed in pedestrian crash near Willow Glen, Herschelwood
HOUSTON, TX – An auto-pedestrian crash claimed the life of a young boy in Houston on the morning of Thanksgiving, reports the City of Houston.
Shortly after 11:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to a fatal accident at 5200 Willow Glen Drive in the South Park area. This is southeast of EP Hill Park and northeast of Bastian Elementary School.
Police say that 7-year-old Nicolas Castillon was riding his bike on Willow Glen Drive when a westbound Ford F450 struck him. Authorities declared Castillon deceased at the scene.
The driver involved in the crash stopped to render aid and to speak with police. He did not show any signs of intoxication, and no charges are pending at the time.
The investigation is ongoing.
