Third Ward crash near McGowen, Tierwester kills pedestrian
HOUSTON, TX – A woman died in an auto-pedestrian crash that happened Tuesday night along a major roadway in south-central Houston, reports Click 2 Houston.
Around 11:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to a major accident on McGowen Street near Tierwester Street. This is southwest of the Gulf Freeway and northwest of The University of Houston.
Police say that a vehicle struck several cars that were parked along the side of McGowen Street. One of the cars struck a female pedestrian, causing her to fall below another parked vehicle.
The pedestrian, who has not yet been named by authorities, died at the scene.
Medics transported the driver that caused the accident to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
It’s unclear if the driver will faces charges in connection to the crash.
A full investigation is underway.
