1 killed, 1 seriously hurt in wrong-way crash on Tomball Pkwy
HOUSTON, TX – Two vehicles collided head-on early Saturday along the freeway in northwest Houston, reports abc 13 News.
The fiery collision happened around 1:30 a.m. on the Tomball Parkway, or TX-249, near Cypress Crossing.
A 25-year-old driver, police say, entered the wrong-side of TX-249 and crashed head-on into another car, causing it to catch fire.
Authorities pronounced the wrong-way driver deceased at the scene, identifying him as Julio Alberto Calero Ramirez.
Police worked to pull the other driver from the burning vehicle, and medics transported the victim to an area hospital with major injuries.
Motorists experienced delays along TX-249 Saturday while crews worked at the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
