Wrong-way driver killed in I-10 crash in Fifth Ward

HOUSTON, TX – A wrong-way crash in northeast Houston claimed one person and seriously injured another last Tuesday, reports abc 13. 

Shortly before 1 a.m., emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle collision on I-10 near Lockwood Drive in the Greater Fifth Ward.

The investigation thus far indicates that an Acura NSX veered onto the wrong side of the freeway and crashed head-on into another car.

Medics transported the 21-year-old driver of the second vehicle to an area hospital with serious injuries. Authorities have identified her as Jordan Johnson.

The wrong-way driver, who has not yet been named by police, died at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
