40-year-old man fatally struck near Salge Dr, Hollister St

HOUSTON, TX – Emergency teams responded to an auto-pedestrian crash Thursday morning in northwest Houston, reports abc 13.

The fatal accident happened around 5:30 a.m. near the intersection of Salge Drive and Hollister Street in the Woodland Oaks area.

Police say the victim was walking in or along the roadway when a northbound Infiniti Q50 hit him.

It’s unclear if the pedestrian was utilizing a designated crosswalk at the time of the accident.

Authorities pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. His name has not yet been released to the public.

The 26-year-old driver stopped to render aid and to speak with police.
