Pedestrian killed in crash on North Freeway near Greenspoint
HOUSTON, TX – A man died after at least three vehicles struck him Monday night on the North Freeway near Greenspoint, reports FOX 26 Houston.
Around 9 p.m., Harris County deputies responded to the northbound lanes near Rankin Road and Greens Road after the deadly crash. Authorities said the man died at the scene.
Major Blendermann said investigators believe the man tried to cross the freeway when the vehicles hit him. All three drivers stopped after the collision. Investigators have not confirmed whether other vehicles may have hit the man before deputies arrived.
Investigators do not believe speed or alcohol played a role in the crash. Officials have not released the victim’s identity.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the fatal crash.
