One woman killed, one injured in Friday night hit-and-run in Acres Home

HOUSTON, TX – One woman died and another woman was injured in a Friday night hit-and-run on West Little York Road in Acres Home, reports FOX 26 Houston.

Police say the crash happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 800 block of West Little York Road near De Priest Street.

Investigators say the two women were crossing the road outside a crosswalk when an eastbound vehicle hit them.

Scheaky Washington, 50, died at the scene. Paramedics took the other woman to a hospital for treatment.

Investigators have not released a description of the driver or the vehicle. Police say the driver, whom they suspect was a woman, did not stop to help after the crash.

Houston police continue to investigate the fatal crash. They ask anyone with information to contact the HPD Hit and Run Unit or Crime Stoppers.
