18-year-old woman killed in Friday night auto-pedestrian crash in Houston
HOUSTON, TX – An 18-year-old woman died after an auto-pedestrian crash Friday evening at 3200 Hillcroft Avenue in Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police said the crash happened around 5:55 p.m. on March 27.
Investigators report that a green Hyundai Genesis was traveling northbound on Hillcroft Avenue when the driver entered the intersection on a red light. The Hyundai then reportedly struck the woman as she was crossing the road in a crosswalk.
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and took the woman to a local hospital. She was pronounced dead the next day, according to police. Authorities have not yet released the woman’s name.
Police said the Hyundai driver stayed at the scene and showed no signs of intoxication.
