Scooter rider critically injured in Tuesday night crash in Galveston
GALVESTON, TX – A scooter rider suffered critical injuries in a Tuesday night collision at 45th Street and Avenue R 1/2 in Galveston, reports KTRK.
Police said the wreck happened around 10:25 p.m. Officers discovered a Cadillac SUV facing north in the 2300 block of 45th Street when they reached the scene. They also found the scooter operator with severe injuries.
Responders rendered emergency aid to the rider before fire crews and EMS arrived. Paramedics took the injured rider to a hospital in critical and unstable condition.
Investigators said the Cadillac driver stayed on location and cooperated with the police. Authorities have not announced any criminal charges and are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
