1 killed, 1 seriously injured in single-car crash on Ella Blvd

HOUSTON, TX – One person was killed and a second was seriously injured in a single-vehicle collision in northwest Houston early this morning.

Click2Houston reports that the crash happened at Ella Boulevard and Pinemont Drive just after 12:15 a.m. today.

The driver of a northbound Ford F-150 lost control of their vehicle, which struck a tree. Police say the pickup was likely speeding at the time.

A 30-year-old female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck’s 30-year-old male driver was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. The unidentified man is said to have a criminal record and a history of driving violations.

Ella Blvd. was closed for two hours as authorities investigated.
