Man, 24, arrested after intentionally causing injury hit-and-run crash in Houston

HOUSTON, TX – A 24-year-old man from Arkansas was arrested after intentionally causing a hit-and-run crash with injuries on Tuesday. 

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office told ABC13 that the Arkansas man, later identified as Jorge Luis Perez, was driving a pickup truck on the 400th block of FM 1960 when he got into an argument with his female passenger, whom detectives believe is Perez’s girlfriend, also from Arkansas. The girlfriend exited the vehicle, and Perez allegedly drove away and then hit her with his pickup truck before fleeing the scene. 

The woman was left in critical condition and rushed to a hospital for treatment. 

HSCO detectives arrested Perez and booked him into the Harris County Jail and charged him with aggravated assault.
