Man’s life claimed in SUV-pedestrian collision in Houston  

HOUSTON, TX – A man was killed in an SUV-pedestrian collision in Houston on Sunday, ABC13 said.

Preliminary details from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office reveal the pedestrian, Ruben Torrones, was walking north on Aldine Westfield Road when he was struck by a 2011 red Chevrolet SUV.

Torrones flew into the air before landing on a grassy median. Deputies said  Torrones failed to yield the right of way to the SUV and died from his injuries at the scene.

Westfield Fire Department and EMS crews also responded to the scene.

Deputies said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. No charges appeared to have been filed, and the pedestrian’s name has not been released.
