Houston local killed in traffic collision on Loop 610

HOUSTON, TX – A 20-year-old man, a Houston local, was killed in a traffic collision reported on Loop 610 North on Thursday.

Houston police told Click2Houston that the young man was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his Lexus four-door sedan, went over a hill, and crashed his car into a barricade.

The man did not wear a seatbelt and was ejected from the car. Subsequently, he died from his injuries.

Authorities closed the freeway for two hours before reopening.
