Accident closes lane on Capital of Texas Highway

AUSTIN, TX – North Austin officials are reporting delays as the result of a rush-hour accident northwest of downtown Austin.

According to KXAN, the incident was reported shortly after 4:00 p.m. along the Capital of Texas Highway near Great Hills Trail. Officials have shut down a portion of the southbound lanes on the highway as a result of the crash.

Information regarding how many vehicles were involved in the crash or what may have caused it to happen has not yet been made available by North Austin Police. However, authorities are urging motorists to find an alternate route as delays are likely while the wreckage can be cleared from the road.
